5 Minutes With Josh Gates, host of Expedition Unknown

For McCool Travel’s 68th travel profile, I am pleased to present Josh Gates, known by millions of people as an adventurer and television personality. He hosted Destination Truth and Ghost Hunters Live, each for five seasons on Syfy, and currently hosts Expedition Unknown on Travel Channel. I was very fortunate to speak at length with Josh Gates before his presentation to a large audience at the recent DC Travel and Adventure Show.

Josh Gates’ bio:
“Adventurer, television personality, and author Josh Gates is the host and executive producer of the Travel Channel series, Expedition Unknown. The show takes viewers around the world and off the map for thrilling investigations into history’s most iconic legends. From Amelia Earhart to lost Incan cities, Gates travels to some of the most remote corners of the planet in immersive, hilarious, and nail-biting journeys of discovery. The series blends his unique brand of humor with a passion for exploration. For five years, Josh also helmed and co-executive produced the hit Syfy Channel series, Destination Truth and served as the host of the immensely popular Ghost Hunters Live. He has also appeared on The Today Show, CNN, and a variety of other national television and radio programs. His wanderlust has taken him from sweltering African deserts to the icy shores of Antarctica. To date, he has set foot in more than ninety countries. ”
