Victoria Canada Hotels: 4 Amazing Places to Stay on Vancouver Island

On a British Columbia getaway trip, we stayed at four different Victoria Canada hotels. Each Vancouver Island lodging property exhibits its own distinct luxury travel characteristics.

While I really enjoyed exploring vibrant Victoria and a little bit of natural Vancouver Island, I was struck by the fun variety of luxury lodging options in western British Columbia.

Read on to learn about a Lake Como inspired villa, a waterfront full service hotel with Japanese influence, a boutique property, and a luxury yurt. Yes, a yurt!

Thank you to Tourism Victoria for introducing us to these wonderful Victoria Canada hotels.

Victoria Canada Hotels: Amazing Places to Stay on Vancouver Island

1. Oswego Hotel

Oswego sits a block from the Inner Harbour and two blocks from Fisherman’s Wharf. Their 80 modern suites are spacious and comfortable; our room featured a living room, kitchen, balcony, and a fantastic view.

Seeing in-house made chocolate truffles when entering our room almost distracted us from the snow capped mountains on the horizon.

2. Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina (Coast Harbourside)

As a member of APA Hotels, Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina (formerly known as Coast Harbourside) offers Japanese luxury elements like electric bidet toilet seats and origami cranes. The onsite restaurant, Blue Crab, receives critical acclaim, including “best seafood in Victoria” by Frommer’s.

I loved the gorgeous inner harbour view from my room and made a friend in the lobby. This Victoria luxury hotel sits between Fisherman’s Wharf and Parliament Building, along the brilliant coastal walking path.

4. Villa Eyrie

Villa Eyrie is one of the top luxury hotels in Canada. While the spectacular world-class views are reason enough to visit, the property, service, facilities, dining, and lodging opportunities are also exceptional.

Villa Eyrie—about a 30 minute drive from downtown Victoria—partners with the nearby Vancouver Island Motorsports Circuit and caters to motor enthusiasts from Europe and around the world. If motorsports is not your thing, stay here for the views (of course) and proximity to golf, nature, and island activities.

  1. How nice to learn about a range of options and locations in Victoria’s luxury hotel category. I’ll definitely check these out next time we go to Victoria.

  2. We have always struggled to find nice hotels in Canada but these look lovely.

  3. Some top notch places on this round up. I especially like the yurt and that tub at Villa Eyrie, what a view!

  4. I love the mixture of hotels and locale and would probably stay in all of them. Looks like a fantastic visit and I haven’t been back to Victoria in a long time – need to go back again.

  5. I pick Villa Eyrie because it does remind me of a lovely place I stayed on Lake Como–Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio. I once stayed in a sweet English-style cottage hotel in Victoria. Would like to go back there, too.

  6. Victoria is such a lovely city! I’d love to return and stay at one of the luxury hotels you described!!

  7. I’m ashamed to say that my experience of Canada is very limited – a wonderful (if rather wet) few days in Vancouver a couple of years ago. But I’d love to go back and see more – that view from the Villa Eyrie is enough to tempt anyone!

  8. That view from Villa Eyre’s got me hooked, man. Great shots and words on some really awesome places I’ll hopefully get to visit! Had you ever been to BC before? Thanks for sharing, Charles.
