Margaritaville Resort Biloxi really surprised me. Not with their License to Chill vibe, because, after all, founder and King Parrothead Jimmy Buffett was born a few miles away. McCool Travel factoid: Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day (December 25) in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
In an area surrounded by casino resorts, Margaritaville Biloxi is a family-friendly beach resort with no casino. That surprised me. Located along the magnificent Mississippi Gulf Coast (aka Coastal Mississippi) across the street from Harrah’s, next to Golden Nugget, and down the street from Beau Rivage and Hard Rock, Margaritaville Biloxi was just another casino property I guessed.
Then I stayed there and realized how wrong I was!
But, trust me, you likely will have more fun at Margaritaville Resort Biloxi than those other Biloxi casinos. Plus it is a convenient day trip from New Orleans.

Following are several reasons why Margaritaville Resort Biloxi is one of our favorite places to stay on the beach along the US Gulf Coast.
Escape Family Entertainment Center
Margaritaville Biloxi provides funness to people of all ages. The Escape Family Entertainment Center on level 2 features a golf simulator, bowling lanes, climbing wall, Cloud Coaster, adventure circuit, the world’s largest PacMan (cool), and hundreds of gaming opportunities.
McCool Travel tip: One of my favorite Margaritaville Resort Biloxi features is the climbing wall extending from level 2 into the Margaritaville Cafe on level 5.
Margaritaville Biloxi Pool Area
Level 5 of the Margaritaville Biloxi features much more funness—including the main pool area and the popular dining areas of Margaritaville Cafe and Doe’s Eat Place. The pool area features a lazy river, fun pool slide, water ropes course, and chillaxin lounging areas. Pool patrons can swim up to the 5 O’clock Somewhere Bar, which also overlooks Biloxi Bay, Deer Island, and the Gulf of Mexico.
Dining at Margaritaville Resort Biloxi
Doe’s Eat Place is an upscale dining option at Margaritaville Biloxi. Doe’s serves incredible steaks, tamales, and craft cocktails. I had a perfect filet mignon with a side of asparagus here. The Mississippi Mud Cake dessert is devastatingly amazing. Happy hour prices (Mon-Fri 5-8pm) are quite reasonable.
Margaritaville Cafe has a similar menu across all Margaritaville properties so when you find something you like, order it at any Margaritaville! The most popular Margaritaville Cafe menu item is Volcano Nachos, weighing in at 5 pounds. Be sure to share some! I usually opt for a grilled fish entree or something recommended by the manager or wait staff. Other Margaritaville Biloxi dining options include Landshark Bar and Grill, The Sweet Shack, The Lost Key Bar, and Margaritaville Coffee Shop.

Margaritaville Biloxi Rooms
After using the complimentary valet parking and complimentary bellman service, head to the 10th floor lobby to register. Rooms are comfortable, with in-room Keurig coffee makers, tropical pictures and colors, rock floors in the showers (nice), and more chillaxin’ touches and vibes.

Other Margaritaville Biloxi Resort Tips and Features
The level 10 and 12 decks are typically quieter than the pool area. They are especially nice to visit in the evenings and at sunset (unless you are on a higher floor with a balcony and facing west).
Margaritaville Biloxi has a modern fitness center on the 9th floor and it is a convenient place to refill your water bottle.
