5 Minutes With Claudia Tavani of My Adventures Across the World

For McCool Travel’s 158th travel interview, I am pleased to introduce you to Claudia Tavani of My Adventures Across the World. I have known Claudia online for years but we finally met in Nepal earlier this year. She is Italian but attended college in the United States and lived in several countries. Her world view is refreshing but hiking with her is a challenge because she stops every time she sees a cat. Actually, that usually gave me a chance to catch up.
Claudia Tavani‘s bio: “Claudia is a former human rights lawyer who abandoned her academic career to go hike all the volcanoes in the world. When she’s not out exploring, she’s based in her hometown, Cagliari. She loves cats and would like to also have a dog. She enjoys eating hummus and won’t take pizza with pineapple. ”

A FAVORITE TRAVEL MEMORY …
I heard of this place in Peru called Marcahuasi, but nobody I knew had been there. It sounded like a fun hike and it was just 100 km from Lima, and in my head that would qualify as a day trip. So I set to go for a day. It took me 5 hours to get there, only to discover that after 12:00 pm there were no buses going back to Lima and that it rained every day in the afternoon. I had to look for a place to stay in this tiny village called San Pedro de Casta. All I could hear at night were the donkeys.
