The variety and quality of dining options in Delaware really surprised me. By no means is this an exhaustive list or represents the best places to eat in Delaware. I did not even include all of the great places I have eaten at in Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. This is just a sampling of Delaware restaurants I enjoyed.
Seven Sensational Places to Eat in Delaware
1. Krazy Kat’s, Wilmington Delaware
Montchanin Village is a very cool slice of Americana in the heart of Wilmington. The village is a restored 19th century hamlet created by the DuPont family, now with 11 historic buildings and 28 rooms to stay in.

Krazy Kat’s restaurant resides in one of those buildings and offers eclectic fine dining featuring fresh and seasonal local cuisine.

Their steaks, pork tenderloin, sides, and cocktails are krazy amazing.

2. Abbott’s on Broad Creek, Laurel Delaware
Everyone in my group—some first time diners and some frequent locals—raved about their food at Abbott’s. The crowd was lively during our visit with one large room hosting a murder mystery party. Sunday is prime rib/crab cake dinner but some locals probably go to Abbott’s every night.

3. Brunch n’ Lunch, Dover Delaware
For some Southern yumminess from an up and coming chef, stop at Brunch n’ Lunch for a great lunch sandwich. No one in my group ordered the flagship Piggy Mac Ride, a burger topped with mac & cheese and bacon. My order, the Hot Chick—a crispy chicken sandwich with a spicy kick—was delicious.

4. Crooked Hammock Craft Brewery, Lewes Delaware
For a little slice of Jimmy Buffett in Delaware, head to Crooked Hammock. Crooked Hammock has great craft beer, live music, outdoor games, and yes, hammocks.

My lunch Carolina pulled pork with a side of asparagus was very tasty.

Oh, yeah, remember to order one of their craft beers.

5. Jimmy’s Grille, Rehoboth Beach Delaware
Peace, love, and chicken is the motto at Jimmy’s Grille, a local restaurant chain with three local locations.

Mom said do not eat anything bigger than your head but the exception is the meringue on these pies.

6. The Drunk n’ Baker, Smyrna Delaware
Being 30 minutes early for a tasting appointment at the nearby Painted Stave Distillery (try their scrapple vodka!) gave me time to explore the small downtown in Smyrna. Glad I did because I found this place. Drunk n’ Baker creates baked good masterpieces—regular style and infused with alcohol.

7. Chesapeake & Maine, Rehoboth Delaware
Dogfish Brewery operates the Chesapeake & Maine restaurant in downtown Rehoboth Beach, known locally as C&M. True to its name, C&M serves classic seafood dishes from the local Chesapeake region AND from Maine, along with the complete line of Dogfish craft beers.

Regretfully we did not order lobster rolls because we just came from Cape Cod but they looked magnificent.
