Last fall I visited one of the most unusual tourist attractions.
In September, I saw the bubble gum wall in Seattle. Located in Post Alley behind the famous Pike Place Market, there is a brick wall, about 50 feet of it covered with bubble gum discards. People come from all around the world to see the wall and leave their mark. In fact, in the 5 to 10 minutes I was there, two separate groups from Asia checked it out.
The wall is called the Pike Place Market Gum Wall (Yelp), Market Theater Gum Wall (Wikipedia), and Seattle Gum Wall (various sources). In 2009, it was named the second germiest tourist attraction, behind only the Blarney Stone. I was impressed not only with the quantity of gum but with the artistic quality (“A” grade for presentation).

I have been to many other unusual tourist attractions (Chapel of Bones in Portugal immediately comes to mind) and I know you have, too. Today, I want to hear about other crazy, interesting attractions.
