Release your inner Parrothead & experience relaxed luxury at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort near Fort Lauderdale Florida. It is 5 o’clock somewhere—but always here!
Feel your troubles melt away as soon as you you enter the casual but functional lobby of the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida. The lobby signature centerpiece is a giant blown out flip flop next to a pop top. McCool Travel Warning: that will not be the only Jimmy Buffett lyric and Parrothead reference in this article.

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: Relaxed Luxury in South Florida
Take a break from watching the sun bake all of those tourists (covered with oil) and relax in the cozy confines of one of these super comfortable lobby cabana areas.

While exploring the Margaritaville property pay attention to the cool design features. For instance, I love the margarita glass light fixtures in the lobby. And the tropical holiday decorations are nice during December. Let me know your favorites.
Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: Location
Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is located in Hollywood Beach, Florida, only a 15 minute drive from Ft. Lauderdale airport. This is a great place to stay after a South Florida scenic drive, perhaps over from Naples or up from Key West.
The resort stretches all the way across the thin island, from the ocean to the intracoastal waterway, and is very near the center point of the famous Hollywood Beach Broadwalk (yes, it is called Broadwalk, instead of Boardwalk).
The Hollywood Bandshell (also known as Hollywood Beach Theatre) is on the edge of the resort and features live music from South Florida bands on Wednesday through Sunday evenings year round. When the Margaritaville Resort was being built, they also refurbished the Bandshell. The entire block is now modern and relaxed luxury at its finest.

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: The Grounds
The Margaritaville Beach Resort features two giant pools. One pool (LandShark) features a waterslide, a Flowrider surf simulator, and the LandShark Bar and Grill. The other pool (Lone Palm) is more mellow, with a hot tub, outdoor tiki bar (called Lone Palm Beach Bar, which is also open to the Broadwalk public), and borders Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. Both pool areas have cabanas for rent and complimentary lounge chairs.

On the 11th floor is an adults and guests only pool area with its own License to Chill bar.

Walking across the Hollywood Broadwalk from the pool area, you can immediately remove your flip flops and dip your toes into the pristine beach sand. The beach is groomed every morning and it is one of the nicer stretches of Hollywood Beach.

In addition to the Bandshell, the Margaritaville Beach Resort has three other venues for live music.
Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: The Rooms
Wooden signs with a different Jimmy Buffett lyric welcome you at each elevator stop. While I was tempted to visit every floor and take a picture of each sign, I decided I would leave that quest for another trip.

The Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort rooms are a quiet oasis from the common areas. I was very impressed with the quality of the room experience—very comfortable bed and pillows, elegant but comfortable wood decor, two adirondack chairs on the balcony.

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: Dining
In addition to the previously mentioned pool options, here are several other Margaritaville dining options.
JWB Prime Steak and Seafood is a concept restaurant appearing only at this Margaritaville property. It is a magnificent setting to experience fine dining but with a casual vibe. Perfect for my relaxed luxury theme.

The ingredients at JWB, especially the fish, are extremely fresh. I mean really, the menu lists the name of the diver who caught the fish of the day.

While my wife had an impeccable filet mignon, I opted for an amazing piece of halibut topped with fresh crab meat.

Across the street—the highway known as A1A, another Jimmy Buffett reference—on the intracoastal waterway, is 5 O’Clock Somewhere. These colorful chairs make the perfect Instagrammable Florida spot.

Along the Broadwalk, you can grab a quick bite at the Floriday’s Airstream Cafe.

Inside the Margaritaville Resort lobby, next to the deadly gift shop (fun!) and very popular in the morning, is the Margaritaville Coffee Shop. It is open all day and is another convenient place to grab a quick bite, on your way to your beach chair.
Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort: Amenities
The daily Margaritaville resort fee covers towels, beach chairs, one hour bicycle rental, and a bottle of water for each guest, along with access to the pool areas.
I enjoyed my ride along the Broadwalk, on the coolest bicycle in town. Squeeze the parrot horn to make the loudest sound on the Hollywood Broadwalk. OK, sometimes you just have to, because people unconsciously walk in the bike lane. Durn tourists!

Experience relaxed luxury at the St. Somewhere Spa in the Margaritaville Resort.

In addition to having a full range of spa and salon services—including the Lost Shaker of Salt scrub—St. Somewhere offers healthy lunch options in a private space overlooking the pool area.

The 9th floor of the Margaritaville Resort has over 30,000 square feet of meeting space. McCool Travel Tip: encourage your company to have their next conference here and invite me to speak to the group.
If you have young ones, they (and you) will enjoy a full or half day program in the Parakeet Kid’s Club.
Across the street at 5 O’clock Somewhere is the place to rent a kayak or a SUP board for some local waterway exploration. They can also arrange fishing trips and offer guided mangrove kayak trips. McCool Travel Tip: the Margaritas and Mangroves tour on Saturdays cost $20 less than the regular mangrove tour PLUS includes a free margarita.
McCool Travel Tip: Check here for best Margaritaville Hollywood rates and look for specials on the Margaritaville resort website—like Stay 4 nights and get 1 free, 20% off 3 nights or more, and special rates for Florida residents, and members of AAA, AARP, and the military.

I love the giant flip flop – would make me feel like I was home… us Aussie’s love our flip flops 😉
Oh, I love the flip flop life. Perhaps Margaritaville should have a property in Australia! I would go, for sure.
Nice post and photos! The sunlight, the sand, the water, the resort, I felt like I was on vacation already. I do hope to hold a business conference there for once and somehow my teams always ended up in either the West Coast or Southeast Asia…. @ knycx.journeying
Thank you. Travel Happy!
Love the flip flop sculpture in the entrance! Also the one hour bicycle rental is a great amenity to have. Will definitely check it out on my next trip to South Florida.
Excellent. Tell Margaritaville that you heard about it on McCool Travel. 😀

Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood is a really fun place. Enjoy!
What a fun hotel! I love the blue flipflop that welcomes you as you enter, totally Jimmy Buffett worthy. Your Buffett quotes had me giggling and singing in my head, I think I might have Margaritaville stuck in my head the rest of the day.
There are worse things than Parrothead tunes in your head. Fins Up!
I love Hollywood, Florida and I know that this is a terrific addition to the Boardwalk area. I also love how you showcased all the fun decor throughout the property. What is not to love about a royal blue, giant flip flop? And then all I can see are people swinging throughout the property on tire swings! I had a blast in Hollywood and would go back tomorrow if I could. Thanks for sharing all the fun things about this fun property!
Hollywood is a fun getaway in South Florida and Margaritaville is a first class, relaxed luxury location. Travel Happy!
Wait, lobster hash browns? We’ve got to check this place out. We did a tour while we were there for TBEX a few years back. They had just opened. Looks like we gotta go back, and soon!
Yep, lobster hash browns. Magnificent.
All those shades of blue-sign me up! I especially love the way they highlight the origin of the locally speared fish. Very cool way for diners to keep it local.
Love the blues! Very cool to get to know your food and source. Well, sort of. Thank you.
I loved the vibe of the Margarita restaurants in Key West and Jamaica. Would definitely consider staying at this resort in Hollywood.
You should, Patti. Exciting and relaxing vibe.
Makes me want go now.
Would love to do a review of your place.
noodlebudget.com is my site.
Thank you for the note. Not sure what you mean by my place.
Who knew? That pool and beach at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort look great! I would definitely enjoy a stay there. The closest I’ve come so far is to a Margaritaville restaurant in Atlantic City.
Funny, I have not been to a Margaritaville restaurant, even though I see them a lot.
