Margaritaville Gatlinburg has 19 room configurations and 6 suite types. Most rooms have balconies and many have fireplaces. All rooms are tropically and vibrantly (but soothingly) decorated, comfortable, and spacious. 50″ smart TVs, wifi, coffee makers, microwaves, refrigerators, and more are complimentary with every room.

For a splurge, check out the Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg suites. The two largest suites—Coral Reefer and Jimmy Buffett suites—have two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with tub), and a large living room. These suites have larger balconies and adjoin but do not connect.

Things to Do at Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg

Enjoy the Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg indoor pool on a chilly winter day—and post those pictures and videos on social media channels to make your friends and family in cold weather destinations jealous.

A nice hot tub is outside and is quite relaxing even when snow is falling (like when I was there in January). When the weather is better, enjoy the Margaritaville Gatlinburg outdoor pool area, including a waterslide and children’s pool.

The fitness center even has a tropical and relaxing vibe while you work off the prior night’s margarita(s) and nachos.

Popular treatments at Margaritaville Gatlinburg’s St. Somewhere Spa include the Defy Gravity facial and the Muscadine moonshine pedicure. Couples massage and facial treatments—with partners switching places after each treatment—are popular but there is also a couples massage room. The showers with steam and heated stone floors are luxurious.

How about hosting or attending a team building function or a wedding with the Chairman of the Board (Jimmy himself) presiding?

Where to Eat at Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg

In room amenities include a Keurig machine for making tea and coffee. That is a nice touch and will save you time, money, and aggravation. Each room also has a microwave and small refrigerator, so you can shop and bring some snacks and small meal items.

Joe Merchant’s Coffee and Provisions in the lobby serves delicious and fast breakfast sandwiches, pastries, fruit, and beverages. McCool Travel tip: order a sandwich without the potatoes and save $5. Here is the menu.

Get your frozen concoction, boat drink, margarita, or beer at License to Chill. The lobby bar also offers salads, handheld sandwiches, tacos, flatbreads, and other small entrees.

McCool Travel tip: order your Perfect Margarita (or any drink) in a plastic cup and savor it while basking in the outdoor hot tub! Here is the menu.

A short walk out the front door, past the giant flip flop statue, is the full service Landshark Bar and Grill. Landshark has a more extensive food and beverage menu but please note that their items cannot be charged to your room (but the above two places can). Here is the menu.

Other Places to Eat in Gatlinburg

Off property but just across the street from Margaritaville in Gatlinburg TN is El Sonador. The Camarones a la diablo is super spicy and a large, cold Dos XX is $7.

A quick walk away (only a third of a mile) is a McCool Travel favorite bakery, Donut Friar. Buy an eclair (at least one eclair!) for now and one of their clever mugs as a Gatlinburg souvenir reminder for future morning teas.

  1. I’m liking the looks of that Jimmy Buffet suite. We could all do with a little Margaritaville-style escape once in a while. Gatlinburg always sounds like so much fun, yet I’ve never been there. Thanks for the tips on where to stay and eat.

  2. I love the giant flip flop and of course the Donut Friar. What else do you really need? Looks like a fun property with tons of amenities.

  3. What a comprehensive report on Margaritaville Resort Gatlinburg! I feel I’ve been on a virtual walk-through of the hotel and amenities. Even though the decor is “themed,” it appears tastefully done.

  4. Look at that gorgeous parrot. Love it. Fabulous place too Charles, from your review. Some fab R and R there.

  5. So cool. This never would have been on my radar, but we’re considering a road trip through the mountains out that way. It now appears we have at least one night here in the plans.

  6. The Buffett machine just keeps cranking them out. Looks like they’ve covered all the bases from Landshark everything to the incredible suites. Just not so sure about the scenery in the workout room.

  7. Wow, I had no idea there were SO many Margaritaville properties! I just went to the link describing all of them that have opened and are about to open and was astounded! I had heard of the residential properties and think they’d be fun to check out, too. I haven’t been to Gatlinburg for many years but think this would be a great place to stay. Thanks for your report.
